Overview: This is the extraordinary story of the 1971 Women’s Soccer World Cup told by the pioneering women who took part in this tournament which saw record-breaking crowds and yet was erased from sporting history - until now. This film speaks to the international players in all the teams from COPA ‘71 now and it’s a joy to listen to their memories – particularly Britain’s engaging and funny Carol Wilson who, like so many, was badly treated afterwards by the mediocre menfolk. COPA ‘71 is a revolutionary political parable that goes beyond football. A different world is possible; not only that, a different world was not just possible but did in fact exist. But the narrative was erased. Well, it’s been restored by this bracing and thoroughly absorbing film.

Driving Madeleine
Director: Christian Carion
Featuring: Line Renaud, Dany Boon, Alice Isaaz
Language: French with English subtitles
Running Time: 91 min
Overview: Line Renaud is a much-loved French singer and actor whose life spans most of the last century and amazingly, at 93 she takes the lead as a woman who is about to reluctantly move into an old age home. She takes a taxi ride which lasts most of the day, with Charles, a grumpy Paris cabbie as she takes a last look at the town she loves. They make a delightful couple, and Madeleine’s story has many twists and turns as they pass the various famous Parisian landmarks. She is a survivor, and her warmth is irresistible, thawing out the disconsolate Charles.
